This course was one of the most interesting and motivating courses I took at Ramapo. David Green inspired me to have social awareness of those in need, working in the welfare system. I always think of that course among others when thinking back on my Ramapo days. A great education!

I took every art course at Ramapo then switched to a psychology major. I loved the Abnormal Psychology course and Art Therapy, where I was the most candid and graphic artist. I loved the figure drawing class. I remember my first attempts at abstract art on a huge canvas on the floor with Joanna Posette-Dart.

October 8, 2019Those were the days....

Life was very simple back then. We had a group of “Deadheads” who arranged the college entertainment and the tree-huggers who fought the expansion of Route 287. No meal plans, only the College Park Apts. for dorms, so we had to learn how to cook. No cell phones, we took messages from the hall payphone and left messages on the wall pad. And the movie “A Clockwork Orange” played once a month in the multi-purpose room. The best of times.

One of my favorite memories was when my now-deceased sister (Stacy Hylton) and I left from Ewing to Mahwah, N.J., for the first time to visit Ramapo. As we entered the site, one of the first things we noticed and fell in love with was the Arch. We excitedly walked through and called it “The Arch of Success.” We use to say “The Hylton sisters walked through the Arch of Success.” I will never forget the memories I shared with my sister at Ramapo.

I enrolled at 69色情视频 in 1971 as a second year student. I lived in a motel room on Route 17 that was rented by the college since the dormitories were not yet built. I was among the first group of students to live in the newly built dormitories, referred to as “garden apartments.” The modules had 2 bedrooms (each shared by two students), a central living area, 2 bathrooms and a kitchen. I am pictured in front of my 1954 Pontiac Starchief.

It’s where I met the love of my life, where I found myself, where I focused on my passion (creative writing). It’s also where I go to feel inspired again. I may have graduated, but a big part of my heart will always be with this college.

Hello from Sacramento! I鈥檓 from Jersey City, graduated Ramapo in 1983 and moved to California in 1988 for a job.

I was co-chair of SAPB for 1981-82. As part of my duties, I was producer for a concert, which until that time, was the biggest ever at Ramapo. The concert was on April 17, 1982 in the gym. David Johansson was the opening act for the Ramones. A wild night it was, but successful! I still have a concert poster and t-shirt.

I fondly remember the small college atmosphere where learning felt more attentive than in a big school atmosphere. I remember when there was no business school and Bradley Center. At that time, the school was not accredited but I felt like you could learn more than a top 35 business school. I was a commuter student and the campus was very nice. I also remember reading textbooks on my drive on Rt. 17 and skimming books while delivering auto parts!
